Tigh Solais

Tigh Solais is a beautifully finished bungalow just north of the Ballachulish Bridge beside Loch Leven. There are views beyond the bridge across Loch Leven to the mountains that make up the celebrated Beinn a’ Bheithir ridge. Staying at Tigh Solais is an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts and active families. The hiking is top grade and there are trails in all directions. Walking Beinn a’ Bheithir which includes "The Dragon’s Tooth" peak and a total of two munros is high on many hikers list. And being close to Glencoe as well as Fort William opens up many trail options, as well as being only a short drive from Kinlochleven where the West Highland Way passes through. Glencoe and Fort William are both close and offer winter pursuits also with the Glencoe Mountain Resort and Nevis Range ski centres. More winter sports are available including the year-round indoor ice climbing centre in Kinlochleven. It’s not a surprise this area has been coined "Outdoor Capital of the UK", because it also boasts world-class mountain biking trails, watersports, a brilliant golf course and even a segway track.
Now for those that want to simply relax and soak up the awe-inspiring landscapes, Tigh Solais works on that level perfectly. You can simply gaze out and look at the mountain views at anytime of the year and be enthralled with what you can see. For a change of scene and something unique to Tigh Solais you can go for a very wee walk, only 150 yards, to reach a bar where they have over 60 malts and 50 gins, and a great atmosphere, as well as brilliant food and superb views. Staying at Tigh Solais you get the best of both worlds. You are in the thick of it, in the centre of the Scottish Highlands with Glencoe and Ben Nevis within easy reach, but also have the convenience of a village location. Brilliant places to eat and drink, and shops are all local. Beach/slipway for launching boats 200 yards. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 150 yards.
