Situated in bonny Oban, Haven on the Hill is a comfortable, spacious, well-equipped, and convenient one bedroom property with sitting /dining room, study with breakfast nook overlooking the garden, and parking for one car.
The property is in a very peaceful area, just away from the town centre, and 3 minutes’ drive from the ferry terminal, which can also be reached by a short walk from the house along the water’s edge. The property has a living room with 55" Smart TV, a kitchen overlooking the rear garden, bedroom with king size bed, comfortable sitting room with dining table, bathroom with bath and over-bath shower, and a secluded garden with patio. All on the ground floor, it is ideal for couples looking for a quiet location close to the town centre, offering more space and convenience.
Situated on Pulpit Hill, one of Oban’s landmarks, guests can enjoy spectacular views from the Viewpoint, just a short walk from the property. There’s also a convenient pathway downhill, through some quiet streets, leading to the shore road which leads in turn to the town and ferries. Some wilder walks leading through the hills towards Gallanach can be accessed from a public footpath close to the property. Oban, a bustling west coast harbour town, has lots going on for the visitor at any time of the year. Ideal for touring Argyll and known as the “Gateway to the Isles”, with ferries leaving daily to many of the islands, such as Mull, Iona, Staffa, Lismore. In keeping with its reputation as the Seafood Capital of Scotland, there are some excellent restaurants, cafés, and pubs nearby, for relaxing after a pleasant day out exploring all the wonderful scenery and interesting attractions which Argyll has to offer. There is a lovely sandy beach at Ganavan, just two miles’ drive along the coastal road. Dunollie, Dunstaffnage and Kilchurn Castles are some of the nearby castles to visit as part of a day’s sightseeing.
Loads of outdoor sports to enjoy locally, with a kayaking centre just yards away, which launches into Oban Bay and boat trips running from the Pier daily. Further afield but within an hour’s drive, visitors can take a trip to stunning Glencoe, drive to Fort William either to see Ben Nevis or catch the steam train to Mallaig, or perhaps visit to Inveraray to enjoy the Castle or infamous Jail.
