Experience Glencoe’s stunning natural beauty in this distinctive and unique luxury lodge. Situated in the famous Glencoe Glen in the Highlands of Scotland, Strathcona Lodge offers elegant luxurious accommodation in a historic building set in 10 acres of private gardens surrounding Glencoe House, the former home of Lord Strathcona. Although fully self-catering, a welcome breakfast supply is included in your booking and fully catered for although not cooked or served; choose from smoked salmon, a full Scottish breakfast or a continental alternative, all at your leisure. For dinner, choose from a wide range of pre-prepared gourmet meals and simply slip them into the range oven and choose your accompanying wine or drinks from our ever-popular maxi bar .
Equipped to the very best, high quality luxury standards, the lodge has a comfortable living room with a wood burner giving off a congenial, warming glow and adds to the peaceful feel of the suite. Sit back, put your feet up and enjoy a Nespresso coffee or a drink from the maxi bar and step away from the world for a while. Feel free to catch up on films by putting on the internet enabled 3D TV or slip in a DVD. If there is no escape from work, the living room has an elegant desk together with free Wi-Fi that allows you to keep in touch. The fully equipped kitchen is complete with range oven, Dualit kettle and toaster and full-sized dining room table. Dining is a relaxed and private affair where you will not be disturbed by fellow guests or waiting staff; the suites are fully catered for although meals are not formally served. The main bathroom is on the ground floor and has an extravagantly large shower with twin Hansgrohe Rain Dance shower heads so there is no need to fight over who showers first. The lavish bathroom is enriched by the slate Villeroy and Boch washstand, bath and luxury toiletries, so all you need to do is relax. An elegant staircase takes you to the first-floor mezzanine, where the bedroom is located, with super kingsize bed for utmost comfort and relaxation, walk in wardrobe and en-suite toilet.
Outside, the lodge benefits from a decked walled garden area, where you can comfortably sit and relax. The prospect of having breakfast outdoors is always a treat, weather allowing of course. For the ultimate in relaxation, however, nothing beats watching the stars from the privacy of your own hot tub. For the adventurous, the Glencoe area offers numerous activities such as walking, hiking, fishing, skiing, or snowboarding and mountain biking. For those who want to take it easier, visits can be enjoyed for instance to the National Trust visitor centre or the ‘Harry Potter’ train which travels through Glenfinnan. Alternatively, you may retreat to your suite and relish the views whilst sampling a fine single malt or star gaze from your private hot tub.
