Bastard Balm is a treehouse near Finstock, about a fifteen minute drive from Woodstock. It's a one bedroom place for two people. It's quite private, set back in the woods on a site with a few other similar places.
It's modern inside. Lots of glass and light. There's a wood burner in the main room. The bed is upstairs. The stairs up to it are a ship's ladder, so they're steep and open-tread. You need to be okay with that.
It's got everything you'd need. Wifi, towels, parking. There's an electric car charger. The site has a shared yoga deck you can use.
You're right on the edge of Wychwood Forest. Good for walks from the door. The village of Finstock has a shop and a pub.
Blenheim Palace is in Woodstock. It's about four miles away. You can walk in the parklands for free, or pay to see the house and formal gardens. Blenheim Palace.
Oxford is half an hour by car. It gets busy, but the park and ride works. The Botanic Garden is nice if you like that sort of thing. Oxford Botanic Garden.
For a bigger walk, the Cotswolds are close. Charlbury station is two miles away, and you can get the train to Kingham or Moreton-in-Marsh to start a section of the Cotswold Way.
No pets. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's well looked after and has everything.
