Situated in the grounds is a holy well, where pilgrims would bathe in the water en route to St. David’s and would leave offerings. On the site a Celtic church, mentioned in the medieval Black Book of St David’s, once stood.
Just over a mile away is Abereiddi Beach, a starting point for a number of coastal walks, explore the breathtaking unspoiled scenery, and many glorious beaches in the area. Nearby Porthgain Harbour hosts a renowned pub, an award-winning bistro as well as two impressive art galleries. Explore further afield into St Davids, Britains smallest city, and take in the lovely medieval cathedral and ancient Bishops’ Palace, as well as a number of modern amenities - bank, post office, supermarket, filling station and chemist - along with a good range of interesting shops and restaurants. The farmers’ market is also well worth a visit.
