Pound Cottage
Pound Cottage is on the edge of Kirdford in West Sussex. It's an old place, so it's got low beams and the stairs are steep, like you'd expect. It's got a 4 Star rating, which basically means it's comfortable and well looked after.
It sleeps ten people. Six bedrooms, two bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are downstairs, along with a bathroom. The other four are upstairs. The master bedroom is up there, and you have to go through a single room to get to it, so that works well for a family with a young child. The family bathroom has a big old-fashioned bath.
Downstairs, there's the main living room with an open fire and a TV. Then there's a smaller snug with another TV, which leads into the kitchen. The kitchen has a large table and an electric range cooker. The floor is flagged stone.
Outside, there's a garden on two sides with space to sit out. At the back, there's a brick patio with a table and chairs, which faces south. There's a barbecue and a firepit.
It's a quiet village. There's a pub about five minutes walk away, and another one about ten minutes. The village has a play park and a recreation ground.
You're about a mile from the edge of the South Downs National Park. The Wey and Arun Canal is nearby too. You can walk sections of the towpath or go on a boat trip from the Loxwood section, which is about a ten minute drive.
For a day out, Petworth House is about twenty minutes by car. National Trust Petworth is good for the art and the deer park. The coast at places like Worthing or Littlehampton is roughly half an hour's drive.
What's here: all the things you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, bedding and towels included. There's a cot if you need it. Parking for a couple of cars on the drive. Sorry, no pets.
