Rumbolds Retreat
Rumbolds Retreat is a big old house in Plaistow. It sleeps twelve. Six bedrooms, five bathrooms, so a good one for a larger group.
It's 16th century. You've got the beams and the inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. The kitchen has slate floors. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The garden is lovely, very neat, with its own little lake and a pergola.
The house sits on a farm. The main barn here is from 1578, one of the oldest around. There are 130 acres of fields and woods, and you can get straight onto public footpaths from the door.
A shop and a pub are about half a mile away. For a big day out, Petworth House is about ten minutes by car. Midhurst is close too, which is where the polo is at Cowdray Park. You can get to the South Downs, Goodwood, Arundel Castle, or the coast at the Witterings in under half an hour.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV with Netflix, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. They can provide a cot and highchair. No pets.
