Beach Reach is in Greatstone on Sea, Kent. It's about 200 yards from the beach, which you can get to via a private path through the dunes. It sleeps eight.
It's a 1930s bungalow, so it's mostly on one floor. There are three bedrooms. One double and one twin-and-bunk room are downstairs. The main bedroom is upstairs, it has a balcony with a sea view and its own shower room. There's a second shower room downstairs. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are the original ones, so they're a bit steep and narrow.
The living room is at the front. It's light, with an open fireplace. The kitchen-diner is at the back with French doors onto a decked garden. The whole garden is decked, with a table and a gas BBQ.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking.
Greatstone beach is sandy and good for families. The Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway runs through the village. The Sound Mirrors, which are old listening devices from the war, are on the nature reserve here and worth a look.
Dungeness is a short drive away. It's a strange, flat shingle landscape that's a nature reserve. It's popular with artists. You can see Derek Jarman's garden there.
Rye is about a 30 minute drive. It's an old town with cobbled streets, shops and tea rooms. New Romney is closer, about 3 miles, for supermarkets and banks.
If you're looking for day trips, Port Lympne is a wildlife park about 25 minutes away by car. For train links, Ashford International station is about 20 minutes drive, with fast trains to London.
