The Coast House At St Mary's Bay

The Coast House is a single-storey detached house in St Mary's Bay. The main thing is it's about a minute's walk from the beach. It's a long, quiet stretch of shingle, not a busy resort beach.

It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms, once you discount the 'snug' which they've counted as a third bedroom. That's really just a small separate sitting area next to the main bedroom, handy if you've got a cot in with you. They share one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well equipped and comfortable.

The garden is bigger than you'd expect. There's a lawn, a patio, and a covered pergola with a wood-fired pizza oven and a barbecue.

Everything’s on one level, and there's no step at the front door, so it's suitable for limited mobility. There’s parking on the drive.

For facilities, you've got WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and linen is included. No pets.

Dymchurch is a few minutes' drive down the coast. They've got a funfair and the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. You can get the little steam train from there to Hythe or out to Dungeness.

Dungeness is about fifteen minutes by car. It's a strange, flat shingle landscape with two lighthouses and some good seafood places. For a proper walk, you can follow the coast path from St Mary's Bay all the way there.

Further afield, within half an hour you can get to the historic town of Rye, or the Port Lympne wildlife park. Folkestone and its Creative Quarter are about twenty minutes away.
