Gull House

Gull House is in Lydd on Sea, Kent. It's a detached house, so you get it to yourselves. It's right by the beach, the shingle kind. The garden is enclosed.

It sleeps seven. That's four bedrooms: two doubles, a twin, and a single. There's one bathroom downstairs with a walk-in shower, and a separate toilet upstairs. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxury. The beach theme is just that, a theme.

You're on the edge of Dungeness. It's a big, flat, shingle landscape. It's quiet and strange in a good way. The back garden looks straight out over it. There's no street lighting, so the stars at night are very clear.

There's a steam railway line that runs right past the property. You'll see and hear the trains during the day. It's part of the place. Just over the tracks, a minute's walk, there's a pub and a seafood shop that sells other bits too.

For a sandy beach, you drive to Camber. It's about 15 minutes. The dunes there are good. Rye is a similar drive, the old town with cobbled streets is worth a visit. The RSPB reserve at Dungeness is on your doorstep if you like birds. You can walk there. Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is another option, about 20 minutes away by car.

Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, dishwasher, washing machine, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring two dogs.
