Les Quatre Vents Dungeness

Les Quatre Vents is a bungalow in Dungeness. It's detached, so you're on your own out there. The garden is enclosed and private.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms, both with showers. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and functional. We allow one well-behaved dog.

You're right in the middle of the shingle. It's a strange, flat landscape. Quiet. You get a lot of sky. The beach is a short walk away. There's a pub and a tea room about quarter of a mile down the road.

The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway stops about a hundred yards from the gate. You'll hear the trains chuffing by. It's part of the place.

The area is a nature reserve. There are a lot of birds. If you're interested in that, the RSPB reserve is nearby. Derek Jarman's garden is a short walk along the coast. The old acoustic mirrors, the 'listening ears', are out there on the shingle too.

It's a good base for the coast. You can drive to Hythe in about twenty minutes. Folkestone is about half an hour. For a bigger day out, you can get to Rye or Canterbury in under an hour.

In the house, there's a dishwasher, a washing machine, and parking for two cars. All the bedding is included. The heating is electric.
