Cedar Cottage

Cedar Cottage is in Aboyne, on Deeside. It's a detached wooden cottage. The setup is upside-down, so the main living room is upstairs and the bedroom is on the ground floor. It's just for two people.

It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The big thing is the living room upstairs has a full glass wall looking out over the village green. You get the sun in the morning in the back garden. There's a covered patio, a chiminea, and a barbecue.

You can walk straight onto the green from the garden. The village shops and a couple of places to eat are a few minutes' walk away. There's a pub by the river.

The stairs inside are a fairly standard spiral staircase. They're fine, but not great if you have any trouble with stairs. The entrance and bedroom are on the ground floor though, which helps.

If you're here in September, the Aboyne Highland Games happen on the green right outside. The bigger Braemar Gathering is a short drive away. For walking, you're right on Deeside. For fishing, the River Dee is here. There's a local golf course and pony trekking nearby too. In winter, the Lecht and Glenshee ski resorts are about an hour's drive.

Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a wood burner, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. The shower is walk-in. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the main living space is upstairs. Sorry, no pets.
