Bwthyn Y Bwlch is on the edge of St Davids. It's a detached house, modern, built by an architect. You go through an archway to get to it. The garden is private.
It sleeps eight people across four bedrooms, with two bathrooms. The rating is 5 Star, so it's a high standard, well-finished. The stairs are fine. It's all on two levels.
The main thing is space. It's very open plan, both upstairs and down. There are big windows, so it's light. From the first floor you can see the sea in the distance.
There's a wood burner in the ground floor living area. French doors go out to the patio. The kitchen has solid oak and granite worktops. It's well equipped.
One of the bathrooms has a private sauna.
St Davids centre is a short walk away, maybe ten or fifteen minutes. It's small but it's got everything: shops, cafes, pubs, galleries. The cathedral's there. There's a country market on Thursdays in season, which is good for local produce.
For the coast, you can drive north to places like Porthgain harbour. It's about ten minutes. There's a good fish restaurant there. South from St Davids, you've got Little Haven and St Brides Bay. The beaches there are sandy, good for families. The whole coastline is walkable on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
Further along the coast is Martin's Haven. You get the boat from there to Skomer Island, which is famous for puffins and seals. It's about a twenty-five minute drive. Booking for the boat is essential in summer. The Wildlife Trust runs it.
If you need a rainy day activity, Oakwood theme park is about 40 minutes' drive. Folly Farm, which is a zoo and farm park, is about the same.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a cot and a stairgate. Bedding and towels are included. Parking for two cars on the drive. There's Wi-Fi. No pets, sorry.
