Welcome to Officers Retreat, this bright and airy Coach House has been completed to a high standard which gives the guests the perfect spot to stay when exploring the stunning Jurassic Coastline or the beautiful Dorset Countryside.
Stepping inside you are welcomed to a large hallway where you will find the Utility room. The stairs lead you to the main accommodation. On the first floor you will find the large kitchen, living/dining room with large Patio doors leading to a balcony which is perfect for the morning coffee or evening drink under the stars. The bathroom offers a shower over bath and the double bedroom is bright and airy with a large window overlooking the front and access to a small balcony to catch the summer sun.
For anyone visiting Portland you will not want to miss a day exploring the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, one of the many fantastic parts of the Dorset Coastline where you will find Portland Bill, a working lighthouse dating back to early 18th Century. With many local attractions there is something for everyone. Steeped in history Portland will give you that feeling you will need to go back again to keep exploring. The views from the Olympic Rings sculpture which was created to celebrate the London 2012 summer Olympics which the Weymouth and Portland Sailing academy was host to the sailing events. The views stretch across the whole of Weymouth and Chesil Beach.
For the walkers among us, don’t forget to take in the sites Lulworth cover and Durdle. This is one trip you will not want to forget the camera. Water sports, sailing, swimming, canoeing, boating, fishing, and the scenic coastal walking are all available within easy walking/driving distance. If you are looking to venture further afield you can visit the historic town of Dorchester, where you will find local restaurants, pubs, shops, and museums. Poole Harbour in approx. 45-minute drive, this is the second largest natural harbour in the world and home to the famous Brownsea Island where you need to keep an eye out for the red squirrel. Regular pleasure boat trips are offered around the harbour and to Brownsea Island. Walking distance to Church Ope Cove, a small, secluded beach on the sheltered eastern side of the Isle of Portand. Perfect for swimming or relaxing on the beach. Also, within walking distance of local shops, pubs, and restaurants.
