Veasta's Reach
Located in the Mallams hamlet of Portland, renowned for its imposing sea views and set away from the main road, Veasta’s Reach had been lovingly restored to expose many of its original features whilst maintaining a cosy ambiance. The exposed stone chimney meanders through all three floors from the large fireplace and log burner in the living room, perfect for those evenings relaxing after the day’s activities. To the front of the property there is a conservatory/sunroom perfectly suitable for storing cycling, diving or watersports equipment, or for simply enjoying the stunning Portland sunsets. Outside there is a small courtyard to the front of the cottage from which you can enjoy the sea views, or an enclosed decked area to the rear to enjoy a more private setting. There are two king sized bedrooms set over two floors, first floor family bathroom with shower over bath, dining room and downstairs toilet. Veasta’s Reach is perfectly located in an elevated position less than 0. 2 miles walk from Chesil Beach; with convenient off road parking it is the ideal base from which to explore the stunning beauty of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and all Dorset itself has to offer. A visit to Portland wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the famous Portland Bill Lighthouse where you can experience the breath-taking views and enjoy the spectacular coastal walks back home to Fortuneswell … you will not want to forget your camera.
Apart from the many local walks and activities such as watersports, sailing, swimming, boating and fishing, there is also a birdwatch observatory, sculpture park, museum, art galleries, Portland Castle and D’Day Museum within easy walking/driving distance or on a convenient bus route. Veasta’s Reach is also within walking distance of a variety of local shops, pubs and restaurants and the home of the 2012 Olympic Sailing Academy and Marina. If you are looking to venture further afield, you can always visit the historic town of Dorchester, Abbotsbury Swannery, the spectacular Durdle Door or Lyme Regis. Poole Harbour is approximately a 45-minute drive and is the second largest natural harbour in the world which is also home to the famous Brownsea Island.
