The Grooms Cottage is in Crosshill, Ayrshire. It's a detached cottage on a quiet lane. Next door is our other cottage, The Brewers, and our house is nearby too. You get the whole place to yourselves.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, with space for everyone.
The garden is yours to use and it's got a private hot tub. There's also a tennis court and a croquet lawn on the grounds that you share with the other cottage. Good if you've got competitive family.
There's a pub that does food about a mile and a half away. The nearest shop is two miles in Maybole. For a beach day, the coast is about twelve miles.
You're right in the middle of Burns Country here. A lot of people visit for that. The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway is nearby. Things like the Brig o' Doon are there too.
For walking, the Ayrshire Coastal Path is close. You can see Arran across the water on a clear day. The Galloway Forest Park is a big draw, especially for the Dark Sky status if you're into stargazing.
Golf is a big thing locally. Turnberry and Royal Troon are both within a half hour's drive. Culzean Castle is spectacular and about twenty minutes away by car.
The facilities are all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi, parking. It's wheelchair friendly at the entrance. There's an electric vehicle charger. One well-behaved dog is welcome. We include the bedding and towels.
Ayr is a short drive for a traditional seaside day. If you want a city, Glasgow is about an hour. You can get ferries to Arran from Ardrossan.
