Gilminscroft Gatehouse is a detached building on the edge of the estate. It’s on its own, so you’ll have privacy. There are fields with sheep and woods you can walk in.
It sleeps four, but there’s only one bedroom. That bedroom has a double bed and bunk beds. So it’s really best for a couple or a family. The bathroom has a shower, no bath. It’s got a 4 Star rating.
One well-behaved dog is welcome. There’s a patio area and a garden, and you can use the summer house.
The village of Sorn is a short walk away. It’s quiet. There’s a shop about two miles away and a pub that does food about a mile away.
For walks, the River Ayr Way starts nearby. The Ayrshire Coastal Path is a short drive if you fancy the sea. Culzean Castle is about 45 minutes by car. It’s a good day out.
Dumfries House is three miles away. It’s a big attraction, with gardens and a café. Glasgow is under an hour away if you need a city.
Facilities: there’s a washing machine, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There’s storage if you bring bikes.
If you want to book for more people, you can rent this place with The Old Stables next door. Together they sleep eight.
