This is Darnhay Cottage. It's on a quiet lane outside Mauchline. It used to be a barn, so it's a single-storey building, which means no stairs to worry about. It's detached, so you've got your own space.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles, and two bathrooms. That's handy. Everything's on the one level. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
You're in the Ayrshire countryside. Mauchline is about three miles away. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant there. Robert Burns lived in Mauchline for a while, if that's of interest.
For walking, the River Ayr Way path is right nearby. The Ayrshire Coastal Path is also easy to get to if you want a proper coastline walk.
Inland, there's plenty to do. Dumfries House estate isn't far. Culzean Castle is about half an hour's drive, and it's got good woodland and beach walks. If you're into golf, there are courses around, and the Galloway Dark Sky Park is maybe a 40-minute drive for stargazing.
If you want a day out, Glasgow is 45 minutes by car. You can get to the ferry for Arran or the other islands within an hour. Loch Lomond is about 45 minutes away too.
The place has a wood-burning stove, which is nice in the evenings. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside.
