This is Darnhay Cottage. It’s a barn conversion on a quiet lane just outside Mauchline in Ayrshire. It’s detached, so you won’t be sharing walls with anyone.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom. That’s handy. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it’s well equipped and comfortable. It’s open plan downstairs.
The woodburning stove works well. There’s a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right there.
You’ve got a patio and garden to yourself. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
Mauchline itself is famous for Robert Burns. The shop, pub, and restaurant are about three miles away in the town.
If you like walking, the River Ayr Way is right nearby. The Ayrshire Coastal Path is easy to get to as well. For a day out, Culzean Castle is fantastic. The gardens and beach walks there are really good. Dumfries House is also worth a visit.
Glasgow is about 45 minutes by car if you need a city trip. The ferry to Arran is within easy reach for a day out. Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is also about 45 minutes away.
It might be useful to look at National Trust for Scotland Culzean Castle and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park for planning.
There’s another cottage next door called Darnhay Milkhouse. You can book both together if you’re a bigger group.
