The Old Stables is an apartment on the Gilmilnscroft Estate near Sorn. It's the upstairs bit of the old stables building. You've got one bedroom with a double bed and a sofa bed in the living area, so it sleeps four. One bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean.
The access is external stone steps at the back. They're fine, but worth knowing about if you have lots of luggage or anyone with limited mobility. The owner sometimes shows people the original Victorian stables underneath, which is interesting if you like that sort of thing.
You're right in the estate grounds. There are good gardens and you can walk from the door. The summer house in the garden is for guests to use. The village shop is about two miles. The local pub, which does food, is a mile down the road.
You're well placed for walks. The River Ayr Way path is on the doorstep. Dumfries House is about three miles away if you want a proper day out. The coast is a bit further. The Culzean Castle estate is roughly 45 minutes by car. Glasgow is about 45 minutes if you need a city.
For facilities, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
