This is the Cart Shed, just outside Mauchline in Ayrshire. It's a detached cottage converted from an old farm building. The main thing is the space around it. It's set in about four acres of woodland, so it's quiet. You won't see another house from the windows.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom is a double with doors out to the patio, the other is a twin with its own en-suite shower room. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything is modern and finished to a high standard. There's underfloor heating throughout.
The kitchen is well-equipped, with a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a wood-burning stove in the living area. One of the bathrooms has a jacuzzi bath. The property is wheelchair accessible at the entrance and all the main living space is on one level.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a patio and garden area that's yours to use, and parking right there.
There's a local pub about a mile and a half away in Mauchline. The village has a shop and a couple of places to eat as well.
For getting out, you're well-placed. The Ayrshire Coastal Path is nearby for long walks. The River Ayr Way is also close if you fancy a different route. You're about a 20-25 minute drive from the coast at Ayr or Troon. There's golf locally if that's your thing.
Robert Burns lived in Mauchline for a while, so there's the National Trust Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway, which is about a 20-minute drive. Ayr itself has a racecourse and a beach. For a bigger day out, you can get to the south side of Glasgow in about 35-40 minutes.
