Torcross Barn
Torcross Barn is a converted barn in Tarbolton. It's on its own, so no neighbours in the barn next door. The village is about a fifteen minute walk.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is useful with that many people. It's got a 4 Star rating. The conversion was done well. It feels clean and new, but it's still a barn. The main living space is all open-plan.
The garden is paved, with a patio area. There's parking right there for two cars.
It's good for wheelchairs and pushchairs. There's level access to the front door and the living space is all on one level. The shower is a walk-in, no tray.
A shop, a pub, and a restaurant are about a mile away in the village.
For beaches and shops, you drive to the coast. Ayr, Troon, and Prestwick are all within twenty minutes. The Ayrshire Coastal Path starts there if you like walking by the sea. The River Ayr Way is also close for walks inland.
If you want to play golf, Royal Troon and Turnberry are both about half an hour's drive. You need to book ahead.
For a day out, Culzean Castle is impressive and about twenty minutes away. The Galloway Forest Park is about forty minutes drive. It's a huge area for walking. It's also a Dark Sky Park, so if you're into stargazing, it's very good on a clear night.
You can get the ferry to Arran from Ardrossan, which is about forty minutes away. Glasgow is just over an hour by car, or you can get the train from Ayr.
Facilities: It has a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
