Chestnut Cottage is on the Kirklandholm farm, just outside St Quivox. It's about five miles from Ayr. You're up on the hillside, so it's quiet and the views are out over fields. The farm is working, so you'll see sheep and maybe tractors about.
It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-kept. The ceilings are high downstairs, which makes it feel spacious.
You've got a decent sized garden with a patio and a barbecue. There's parking right there. Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a games room with a pool table. We provide bedding. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them, and a stairgate at the bottom of the stairs. Sorry, no pets.
The location is good for getting out. The River Ayr walk and the Ayrshire Coastal Path are right on the doorstep if you like walking or cycling. Ayr itself has all the shops and places to eat. The coast is about a 15 minute drive. You've got beaches, and the National Trust's Culzean Castle is about twenty minutes away by car.
For golf, Royal Troon and Turnberry are within half an hour. Ayr Racecourse is close by. If you want to go further, you can be in Glasgow in 30 minutes. The ferry to Arran is from Ardrossan, which is about 25 minutes drive. Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park is under an hour.
