Glen Rosa
This is Glen Rosa. It's a detached cottage near Alloway, on the Ayrshire coast. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the water to the Isle of Arran. The sunsets are really good.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's been done up to a high standard, everything's new and it's very comfortable. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings.
The garden is yours. It's got a patio and it's enclosed. There's a studio out there with big windows facing the view. You could use it as a painting space, or just sit in there.
You're about two miles from the beach. The local shop and a pub are a mile and a half away. The town of Ayr is close, maybe ten minutes by car.
If you like walking, the Ayrshire Coastal Path is right on your doorstep. The views of Arran are excellent. For golf, you're deep in that country. Turnberry and Royal Troon are both nearby.
You're in Burns Country. Robert Burns' Birthplace Museum in Alloway is very close. Further afield, Culzean Castle is spectacular and worth a visit. It's run by the National Trust for Scotland.
You can take a ferry from Ardrossan to the Isle of Arran for a day trip. It's about a half hour drive to the ferry port. Glasgow is less than an hour's drive if you want a city day.
Facilities: there's a BBQ, bike storage, WiFi, TV, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. The shower is upstairs.
