Glen Rosa

This cottage is called Glen Rosa. It's on the outskirts of Ayr, up on the hillside. It's detached, so no neighbours attached. The main thing is the view. You look right out over the water to the Isle of Arran. On a clear day, it's really something.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done up to a high standard. Everything should be in good order.

The garden is enclosed and is mostly to yourselves, though there's a shared driveway for access. There's a studio out there with big windows facing the view. It's got power. Some people use it for painting, others just sit in there.

You're near Alloway, which is Robert Burns country. Burns Cottage and the museum are a few minutes' drive. The famous Brig o' Doon is there too.

The Ayrshire Coastal Path is on your doorstep for walking. Beaches like Prestwick and Troon are about ten minutes by car. For a proper day out, Culzean Castle is about twenty minutes south. It's National Trust, so members get in free.

Golf is big here. Turnberry and Royal Troon are within a twenty minute drive. If you're not into golf, don't worry, it's not in your garden.

In the other direction, you can drive into the Galloway Forest Park for walking. That's also a Dark Sky Park, so if it's clear at night the stars are good.

Facilities wise, it's got a woodburning stove, a BBQ, Wi-Fi, and parking for a couple of cars. Bedding and towels are included. It says it's a luxury property, which means the finishes are good. You can bring up to two dogs.

The closest shop and pub are about a mile and a half away in Alloway. Ayr town centre has bigger supermarkets and more restaurants, that's about ten minutes in the car.
