One The Stables

One The Stables is on our place just outside Minishant. It's a conversion of the old Victorian stables on the estate. You get the run of the grounds, which is a few acres with a river and some woods. There's a tennis court you can use.

It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-finished. Good for families or a few friends.

The stairs are a normal flight. The ceilings are a bit lower upstairs, as you'd expect in an old building.

You can walk straight from the door along the river or through the woods. For shops and things, Ayr is about ten minutes' drive. It's a proper seaside town with a racecourse and plenty of places to eat. The nearest beach is about five miles.

You're right in Burns country here. Alloway, where he was born, is very close. You've got his cottage, the museum, and the Brig O'Doon all there. National Trust for Scotland: Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.

Golf is a big thing. Turnberry is about twenty minutes away. There are plenty of other courses around too.

Other good days out nearby are Culzean Castle and Dumfries House, both have great grounds. You can get to Glasgow or Stirling in under an hour, or Edinburgh in about an hour and a half. The ferry to Arran goes from Ardrossan, which is about half an hour away.

The facilities are what you'd hope for. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, wifi. The heating and electricity are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.

If you want to walk the coast, the Ayrshire Coastal Path runs right along here. Ayrshire Coastal Path. For the national park, Loch Lomond is about an hour's drive. Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
