The Bottom Byre is near Maybole, in Ayrshire. It's a detached cottage, converted from an old byre. It's quiet and you're surrounded by fields.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything is modern inside. The kitchen doors open onto a small patio with a table, which gets the sun in the afternoon.
You're about a ten minute drive from the coast. Maidens has a harbour and a beach you can walk along. From there, you can get straight onto the Ayrshire Coastal Path. A bit further along that path is Culzean Castle. The castle grounds are huge and the views out to Arran are very good. The castle is run by the National Trust for Scotland.
There are a lot of golf courses around here. Turnberry is the famous one, about fifteen minutes away by car. Royal Troon isn't much further.
If you head south, you can get to the Galloway Forest Park in half an hour. It's a massive area for walking. They're very proud of their dark skies there, if you're into stargazing.
The towns of Ayr, Troon, and Prestwick are all within a twenty to thirty minute drive for shops and places to eat. The train from Ayr or Prestwick goes straight to Glasgow if you fancy a day in the city.
Inside, it's all open plan downstairs. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
If you're coming with another couple, you can book this place together with Dairy Cottage next door. They're separate, but right next to each other.
