Tranquillity Lodge is a small, wooden lodge. It's on our bit of land, about five acres in total. The River Ayr Walk goes right past it. You can literally step out onto the path.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It has a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable but it's not luxurious. Think of it as a good, solid base. The main room is open plan, kitchen, living and dining area all together.
You can bring up to three dogs. They'll love the walks from the door. There's a private patio with garden furniture, and parking right outside.
The location is quiet and rural. You'll see our sheep in the fields. But you're only about ten minutes' drive from Ayr town centre. Ayr's a proper seaside town with a beach, shops, and cafes. You might hear a bit of farm noise sometimes, like a tractor, but mostly it's just the river.
For walking, you couldn't ask for more. The River Ayr Walk goes 40-odd miles from the sea to the hills. The Ayrshire Coastal Path is also easily reached. If you like gardens and history, Culzean Castle is about twenty minutes away. Golfers know about Turnberry, which is half an hour down the coast.
Further out, you can get a ferry from Ardrossan to the Isle of Arran for a day trip. Glasgow is under an hour's drive if you want a city day. For a bigger landscape, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is about an hour away.
Inside, you've got WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and heating's included. We provide the bedding and towels. There's a highchair if you need one.
