Number 12

Number 12 is our house in Portknockie. It's a normal family house by the harbour. You get the whole place.

It sleeps five. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom and a shower room are downstairs, which is handy if you don't want to use the stairs. The stairs themselves are fine, just normal stairs.

The garden at the back is big, sunny and fenced in. There's a utility room with a washing machine, which is useful given the weather up here.

You're about 200 yards from the local shop and the pub-hotel, which does meals. The harbour and a little paddling pool are a ten minute walk. The coast path is right at the end of the road. If you walk five minutes along it, you'll see Bow Fiddle Rock.

Cullen is two miles along the coast. It's a nice village for a wander. You should try cullen skink in one of the cafes there.

Buckie is five miles away. It's a working fishing port. You can get boat trips from there to see dolphins in the Moray Firth. For golfers, there are a few courses nearby.

Further out, you've got the Speyside whisky trail about a half hour drive inland. The coast road towards Lossiemouth and Elgin is good for a drive.
