Salty Dog

Salty Dog is a cottage in Findochty, looking out over the marina. It's semi-detached, a proper old fisherman's place that's been done up. You can watch the boats from here.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's an open fire in the living room. The kitchen has patio doors that open onto a raised, enclosed terrace. It's a good spot to sit.

The stairs are a bit steep, as you'd expect. The terrace is fully fenced, which is useful.

You're about 300 yards from the harbour. There's a decent pub right there on the front that does food, and a shop the same distance. The beach is just as close. The village itself is quiet, nice for a wander.

For walking, you're on the Moray Coast Trail. You can walk along the cliffs to Buckie, Portknockie, or Cullen. Cullen has a great beach and more places to eat. There's a golf course about a mile away.

If you're driving, you've got loads within half an hour. Portknockie has Bow Fiddle Rock. You've got all the Speyside whisky distilleries inland, starting with Glenglassaugh not far away. There are castles too, like the ruins of Findlater. Boat trips for dolphins and seals usually leave from Buckie or Macduff.

The stuff you'd expect is here: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. There's a barbecue and bike storage. Sorry, no pets.

Some useful links if you're looking things up: the Moray Coast Trail for walking, and Visit Scotland's Whisky Trail for the distilleries.
