Hacolo House
Hacolo House is a big detached house in Ryeford, Gloucestershire. It sleeps twelve, with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. That's why groups or families who need the space like it.
It's a five star place, which means it's well done and comfortable. The layout works for a crowd. There's a main living room upstairs, but the real hub is downstairs on the lower ground floor. That's where the big kitchen and dining table are. There's a pool table down there too.
Outside, there's a patio garden with a hot tub and a sauna. The garden isn't massive, but it's enclosed and usable.
Inside, there are a couple of roll-top baths and several showers. One bedroom and bathroom is on the ground floor, which is handy. The other four bedrooms are on the first floor. Three have an en-suite.
The house is on the edge of Ryeford, about a mile from Stonehouse and Stroud. You can walk into Stroud along the canal towpath, which takes about half an hour. Stroud has a good farmers' market on Saturdays and plenty of independent shops.
The Cotswold Way footpath runs along the bottom of the garden. You can walk straight onto it. Rodborough Common and Minchinhampton Common are both within a ten minute drive.
For a day out, Gloucester is about twenty minutes by car. Cheltenham is about half an hour. The National Trust in the Cotswolds has several properties nearby, like Newark Park. The Cotswolds National Landscape site has good walking information.
Facilities include all the basics: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking for several cars. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's a highchair and a stairgate if you need them.
