Stable Cottage
Stable Cottage is in Uley, in a valley. It's a small cottage that was a stable for the old mill across the lane. It's Grade II listed so the walls are thick and the windows are small, which keeps it cool in summer. You can see the mill wheel from the front door.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and the bathroom are downstairs. The stairs go up to the main living space, which is all one room: kitchen, dining area, and sitting area. It's open plan, so if someone's cooking they're not cut off. The ceiling up there is vaulted with wooden beams.
The cottage has a 5 Star rating. That means everything's in good order and it's well equipped. There's a washer, a dishwasher, and WiFi. The garden is enclosed, just a patio and a bit of lawn out front. Parking is right there.
No pets, I'm afraid.
Uley has a village shop about half a mile away. The pub, The Old Crown, is a mile. It's a proper walk, up a hill. They do food.
You can walk straight out from the cottage onto public footpaths. The Cotswold Way runs through the area. For a longer drive, Tetbury is about six miles away. Stroud is four miles and has a good Saturday market. Bristol and Bath are both within a 30 minute drive if you want a city day.
