The Street Cottage
The Street Cottage is on The Street in Uley. It's a proper stone cottage. The village is quiet and feels old. It's in the south of the Cotswolds, just outside Stroud.
It sleeps six in three double rooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The stairs are steep. They are original, so you have to take them slowly.
There are wooden beams and a wood burner. The kitchen is open plan and has a farmhouse table. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The garden is out the back, it's a patio with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the afternoon.
Uley has a village shop, a good pub called The Old Crown, and an art cafe. The pub serves food. You can walk straight from the cottage into the fields. The Uley Bury hillfort is up behind the village. The views from there are very good.
Stroud is about ten minutes by car. The Saturday farmers market is famous. They have good food and local produce. The Stroudwater Canal is nice for a flat walk.
For a day out, Berkeley Castle is about twenty minutes away. The Cotswold Way runs close by if you want a proper walk. For a shorter stroll, the Laurie Lee Wildlife Way is local. Horse riding can be arranged nearby.
We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is on the street outside the cottage.
