Situated on the banks of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal in Gilwern village, above The Towpath Inn, Ty Towpath has been renovated to a high standard in 2020. It’s an ideal getaway for those looking to explore the surrounding areas, with beautiful scenery and walks/cycling routes direct from the door. Enjoy a coffee or beverage on the decking with cosy sitting-out area overlooking the canal. The owner thoughtfully provides complimentary toiletries and slippers, and a welcome pack of freshly baked bread, teas and coffees on arrival. It’s also a perfect bolthole for those visitors seeking to make the most of their visit to sample the pub’s seasonal dishes and famous cocktails. Pop downstairs to sit in the pub’s bustling fairy-lit courtyard or sit alongside the towpath and watch the world go by!

The Towpath Inn is currently open 4 days a week from Thursday to Sunday and hosts extremely popular street food pop-ups each Friday night, as well as serving delicious freshly cooked food from their own kitchen at other times. Gilwern is situated on the edge of The Brecon Beacons National Park and is ideally located for exploring. There are many areas of interest easily accessible from this property, with good transport links to Cardiff, Hereford, Bristol from Abergavenny. Abergavenny and Crickhowell are approximately 4 miles away and both towns have a wonderful range of coffee shops, independent shops and restaurants. Gilwern itself is a well-serviced village with a petrol station, butchers, chemist, shops, chip-shop and pubs all within 200 yards of the property.
