Ty Hir

Ty Hir is in Pontyates, in the Gwendraeth Valley. It's a detached, single-storey cottage. It used to be a cowshed on a farm. The conversion kept a lot of the stonework and beams, so it feels solid.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is a wet room on the ground floor. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.

The living room has a wood burner. French doors lead out to a raised patio and then a big lawned garden. The kitchen is a farmhouse style.

There's a pub-restaurant at the end of our private lane, about a two-minute walk. They do local ales and food. The village shop is about 500 yards away.

You're well placed here. Kidwelly Castle is about ten minutes' drive. It's a very good Norman castle. Pembrey Country Park is about fifteen minutes. That's a huge beach with woods and a dry ski slope. The National Botanic Garden of Wales and the Llanelli Wetland Centre are also within fifteen to twenty minutes.

For a day out, the Millennium Coastal Path starts at Llanelli. You can hire bikes there. The Gower Peninsula and its beaches are about forty minutes away.

In terms of facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. Parking is right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
