Bridge End Lodge

Bridge End Lodge is in Dollar, Clackmannanshire. It's a detached lodge a bit outside the village. It's surrounded by trees so you won't see other guests unless you're walking past their drives. You park right outside.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so one of the double bedrooms has its own toilet. They're both downstairs. Upstairs is just the living space, kitchen and dining area. The lounge has patio doors that open onto a deck with a table and chairs. The view is across the garden towards the Ochil Hills.

It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well equipped and feels new, not just basic. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.

The lodge park has about five acres of grounds you can walk around. The River Devon runs along the bottom. You can fish there.

The village centre is about a ten minute walk. There's a Co-op, a few cafes and a couple of pubs. The walk up through Dollar Glen to Castle Campbell is steep in parts but good. It's a National Trust site. Castle Campbell.

If you want to go further, Stirling is about twenty minutes by car. The castle is there, and the Wallace Monument. Gleneagles is also about twenty minutes away if you're a golfer.

For hill walking, the Ochils are right there. Ben Cleuch is the highest one. For general visitor information, the VisitScotland page for Stirling & The Trossachs is useful.

Things to know: because the living area is upstairs and the bedrooms are down, you go up and down the internal stairs a lot. They're not steep, just frequent. Also, while it feels very private, you can sometimes hear the A91 road if the wind is in a certain direction. It's not constant.
