Old Stones

This is Old Stones, a cottage near Glendevon in central Scotland. It's detached, so no neighbours through the walls. You're in a quiet bit of countryside called Burnfoot.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both upstairs, and each one has its own bathroom which is handy. There's a door between the bedrooms, but it's hidden behind a bookcase on the landing. It's just a normal door, but people like the bookcase bit.

Downstairs, there's a stove in the living room for cooler evenings. At the back, there's a sort of sun room. It's got windows on three sides looking out over the garden. You can sit in there.

The garden is enclosed, and there's parking on the gravel outside.

For facilities, it's got the things. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included.

You can walk straight from the front gate onto paths through the Ochil Hills. The land there is looked after by the Woodland Trust.

The local pub is in Glendevon, about a mile or so up the road. They serve food.

If you want to go out, you're quite central. Stirling, Perth, and Dundee are all about half an hour away by car. Edinburgh and Glasgow are just under an hour's drive. There are a lot of golf courses nearby, including the ones at Gleneagles, which are about ten minutes away.

For other days out, the Japanese Garden at Cowden near Muckhart is about ten minutes away. Historic Scotland and the National Trust have a few properties in the area, like Stirling Castle.

No pets, I'm afraid.
