Maes Y Wawr is near Llanelli, just off the main road. You get to it down a little lane with electric gates at the end. It's detached, so there's no one else attached to you.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The layout is a bit unusual because it's split over different levels, but it just means the rooms feel quite separate. It's not all open plan.
There’s a big main living room and a kitchen with a range cooker, but the other living space is downstairs in the games room. That’s got a full-size snooker table, a darts board and a football table. The garden is enclosed and there are a couple of patio areas with furniture.
The view is the main thing. It looks right out over Carmarthen Bay towards the Gower. It’s south facing, so you get the sun on the patio most of the day.
For beaches, Pembrey Country Park is about ten minutes away by car. It’s a huge beach with dunes and forest behind it. Burry Port village is a fifteen-minute drive. It’s got a marina and a decent chip shop.
If you want a day out, you can drive to the Gower Peninsula in under half an hour. There are loads of beaches like Rhossili and Three Cliffs Bay. Inland, Llandeilo and Carmarthen are market towns about twenty minutes away. Laugharne, where Dylan Thomas lived, is a forty-minute drive. Pembrokeshire and places like Tenby are under an hour.
There's a shop and a pub about a mile away. The pub does food.
For facilities, most things are included. Bedding, towels, WiFi, TV. It has a washing machine, dishwasher, a cot and highchair if you need them. It's pet friendly for up to two dogs. There's parking on site.
