Kings House

Kings House is on Castle Street in Beaumaris. It's a big Georgian townhouse, one of a row. It was built in the 1720s and was an inn for a while in the 1800s. From the front it looks normal, but it's quite deep and much bigger inside than you'd think.

It sleeps twelve. Six decent-sized bedrooms and four bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard.

Out the back is a good-sized courtyard. You get to it from the conservatory and a snug room.

The location is the main thing. You're 20 yards from a pub and 200 from the shops. The Menai Strait is at the end of the street, literally a minute's walk. You can see the castle from some windows. Beaumaris beach is small and stony, but it's right there. For a big sandy beach, Red Wharf Bay is about ten minutes by car.

This is a sailing area. The town has a Victorian pier for boats. There are two golf courses nearby. If you want to ride, you can book that locally.

Anglesey has a lot of coast. Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay are good for beaches and watersports, maybe 20-25 minutes drive. The Sea Zoo is about fifteen minutes away.

If you go over the bridge to the mainland, you're quickly into Snowdonia. It's about half an hour to get into the national park for walking. Llandudno is a classic Victorian seaside town, roughly 45 minutes. The Ffestiniog Railway is a bit further, maybe an hour.

For facilities: it has all the things you'd expect - WiFi, TVs, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. You can bring up to three dogs. There's bike storage and a BBQ in the courtyard.
