Ty Glan Mor (The Beach House)
Ty Glan Mor, or the Beach House, is in Fryars Bay on Anglesey. It's a single-storey timber lodge, which basically means it’s a bungalow made of pine. Scandinavian style. You get the whole garden to yourself. The setting is very quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-fitted and comfortable. Everything you need is there.
It's right on the shore. When the tide is high, the water can come right up to the patio wall. The views are good, straight out across the Menai Strait to the mountains in Snowdonia. You can see Puffin Island from the garden. We see porpoises sometimes, and seals.
A path from the garden leads straight down to the beach. It's shingle and rock pools, not sand. It's very sheltered.
Beaumaris is about a ten-minute drive. It's a nice town with a castle, some shops and places to eat. You can get boat trips from there out to Puffin Island. Bangor is about eight miles away if you need bigger shops.
Facilities wise: there's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings, a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding is included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
The cottage next door, Blue Sails, sleeps six. You can book both together if you've got a bigger group.
