Blue Sails

Blue Sails is on the water in Fryars Bay on Anglesey. It's a traditional stone cottage, right on the edge of the beach. The patio gets close enough that the waves can splash it when the tide's in.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's cosy, not huge, but it's well looked after. The stairs are fairly steep.

There's a separate building next to it called The Beach House. It's a pine lodge. That sleeps four, so you can book both together if you're a bigger group. Both places have their own gardens. You get a fair bit of wildlife. We see a lot of seabirds and sometimes porpoises from the garden.

You can walk straight out onto the beach. Beaumaris is the main town near here, about a ten minute drive. It's got shops, places to eat, a castle, and boat trips go from there out to Puffin Island. The whole area is part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

You're looking out over the Menai Strait towards the mountains of Snowdonia. It's about eight miles to Bangor if you need anything bigger. The National Trust and Visit Wales sites are useful for planning trips.

For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a wood burner, WiFi, and TV. Bedding is included. There's a stairgate if you need it. We accept one well-behaved dog.
