Apartment One Y Bala

This is Apartment One, in Bala. It's a three-bedroom apartment on the high street, above a shop. It sleeps seven, but that's with the double sofa bed in the living room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern inside, clean and straightforward. There's one shower room.

The kitchen is open-plan. You get a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a shared yard at the back you can use, it's a quiet spot.

You're right in the middle of town. The pub is a two-minute walk. The lake, Llyn Tegid, is about five minutes on foot. It's a big lake, good for sailing or just a walk around. If you want to go on the water, you can hire boats there.

For walking, you're on the edge of Snowdonia. The Aran mountains are right there. For a proper day out, Snowdonia National Park is about a 30-minute drive to the west. The Coed y Brenin forest for mountain biking is about 25 minutes south, towards Dolgellau.

If it's raining, the Bala Lake Railway is a good option, it's a short steam train ride along the lake. The white water centre, Canolfan Tryweryn, is just outside town for rafting.

There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets.
