Tibbiwell Lodge is a ground-floor studio apartment attached to the main house where we run a B&B. It's on the edge of Painswick, about a three-minute walk from the centre.
It's all one open-plan room. There's a kingsize bed and then a sofa bed that pulls out for two more people, so it says it sleeps four. A family could manage, but it's really more comfortable for a couple. The kitchen area has a breakfast bar. The shower room is modern, with two sinks.
You get your own parking spot right outside the door. Out the back, there's a raised terrace with a table and chairs that you share with the B&B guests. The view over the valley is the best bit.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. Everything you'd need is there: washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair.
We allow one well-behaved dog. There's also an electric vehicle charger and a couple of electric bikes available to hire for a small fee.
Painswick itself is a proper Cotswold stone village. Nice pubs, a couple of shops, a good butchers. St. Mary's churchyard with all the yew trees is worth a look. The Rococo Garden is about a mile away, it's lovely in spring.
For walking, you're right on the Cotswold Way. Painswick Beacon is a short, steep climb up from the village and the view from the top is fantastic. You can see for miles.
For a day out, Cheltenham is about 20 minutes by car. Cirencester is about 25 minutes. Bath is around 40 minutes. You're well placed for them all.
A few other local things: there's fishing on the Painswick stream, a golf course nearby, and Gloucester Ski Club is about a 15-minute drive if that's your sort of thing.
