Driftcombe is an old farmhouse up near Stancombe. It's detached and sits on its own piece of land, about an acre and a half. There's a stream and some woodland around it. It's quiet.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a four star rating. It's been renovated but it's not new, it's from the 1600s. The stairs are steep, and spiral in parts. They're original. You should know about that.
It's at the top of the Slad Valley. Laurie Lee wrote about these valleys. The last bit of the track to the house is unmade, about 200 yards of it. It's in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Stroud is the nearest town for shops and things. It's about three miles. Cheltenham is about fourteen miles away if you want more.
For facilities, there's a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi and a TV. Bedding is included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed. You can park right there.
