Plover Alresford

Plover is in Elmstead Market. That's four miles from Colchester, in Essex. It's a barn, one of three converted ones on a site. You're in a small group of buildings sharing grounds and a pool.

The barn sleeps four. Two bedrooms downstairs, both on the ground floor. One bathroom. There's one double room and one with twin beds. It's got a 4 Star rating. The living space is all upstairs, open-plan. It looks out over countryside.

The kitchen has everything you'd expect. Washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is on site.

The owners allow one dog.

The big thing here is the shared swimming pool and gardens outside. It's good in summer. There's also a communal games room.

Elmstead village itself has a pub and a shop. Colchester is a ten minute drive. That's where you'll find the big supermarkets, the castle, and the Roman history. Colchester Zoo is about a fifteen minute drive. If you like gardens, the Beth Chatto Gardens are excellent and very close.

For the coast, you've got options within half an hour. Brightlingsea is quiet, more of a sailing town. Mersea Island is good for oysters and a quieter beach. Frinton and Walton on the Naze are the classic seaside towns.
