Oakwood Lodge

Oakwood Lodge is in Lochwinnoch, just west of Glasgow. It's in a rough clearing in the trees, so it feels fairly private. You look out over a field towards Castle Semple Loch.

It's a detached lodge that sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. It's open plan inside, so the kitchen, dining and living area are all one space.

The deck has a hot tub, which you're welcome to use. There's a barbecue out there too. Inside, there's a wood burner for cooler evenings. The stairs up to the mezzanine bedroom are quite steep, just so you know.

The lodge is right in the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park. You can walk straight out onto paths from the door. The RSPB Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve is practically on the doorstep if you like birdwatching. You can hire paddle boards or kayaks on Castle Semple Loch, which is about a five minute drive.

Largs is about a 20 minute drive. You can get the ferry from there to Great Cumbrae. The ferries to Arran and Bute are also within half an hour. Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park is about 45 minutes away if you fancy a day out there. Glasgow city centre is roughly 35 minutes by car.

Facilities: There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right next to the lodge.
