The Old Stables
The Old Stables is here in Howwood. It used to be actual stables. We converted it. It's all on one level, so no stairs to worry about.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and everything works properly.
The main room is open plan. There's a wood burning stove for the evenings. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. The two big windows look out over our courtyard and the fields. It's private, with its own entrance, but we're next door if you need anything.
You can walk into the village in a few minutes. There's a shop and a couple of pubs. One does food. If you're bringing bikes, there's a place to store them.
For riding, there's a stables literally a minute's walk away. They're very good with beginners and kids.
You're about half an hour's drive from Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. You can get boat trips on the loch from there. Glasgow is easy for a day out, maybe 25 minutes by train from the village. Stirling, with the castle, is about 40 minutes by car.
Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, WiFi, Sky TV. There's parking right outside. No pets, sorry.
