Top Lodge
Top Lodge is one of the cottages on the Netherby Estate, near Longtown. It's detached, so you're on your own.
It's for two people, one bedroom. The bed is upstairs in an open-plan space, and there's a roll-top bath right there in the bedroom. Downstairs is a sitting room with a wood burner, a kitchen and dining area, and a separate shower room. There's a boot room out the back that's handy for coats.
Outside, there's a deck with seating and a barbecue. The deck is new. There's also a path from the garden that goes into the woods. Follow it and you'll find a second bath, outside under the trees. It's a nice spot.
It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-finished. The main room downstairs has reclaimed wood on the walls and ceiling.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right at the cottage.
Longtown is the nearest place for shops, about five minutes by car. It's a proper market town. For a big day out, Hadrian's Wall is about half an hour's drive. The Solway Coast is a similar distance if you fancy the sea.
