The Byre Dalrymple

The Byre is a converted barn on our farm in Dalrymple, about five miles from Ayr. It's got a courtyard in front of it. You sleep four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and has everything you'd need.

The main room is open plan, with a kitchen, table, and sofa area. The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher and washing machine. There's an electric vehicle charger on the side of the building if you need it. Outside the back, there's a private, enclosed garden. You look out over fields where we keep sheep and a few cows, so it's a proper farm view.

The farm's quiet, but you're not far from things. Ayr is about a 15-minute drive. It's got the usual shops, places to eat, and a long beachfront. Troon is similar, maybe 20 minutes away, with good beaches and famous golf courses.

If you're here for the golf, you're in the right spot. You've got Turnberry about 20 minutes down the coast. Prestwick, Troon, and Dundonald Links are all within half an hour. It's a serious golfing area.

For walks, the coast path is good. You can also drive into Galloway Forest Park, which is about 30 minutes away, for proper forest and loch scenery. Useful links: National Trust for Scotland at Culzean and Forestry and Land Scotland for Galloway.

Practical stuff: the WiFi works fine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is right outside. It's a working farm, so you'll see us going about our day sometimes, but it's generally very quiet.
