Wye Nest

Wye Nest is a coach house we converted a few years back. It's on Ballingham Hill, just outside the village. The view is the main thing. You look straight out over the River Wye and the valley.

It sleeps four, but it's all one bedroom with a king size bed and a sofa bed in the living area. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's new and it's well-insulated, so it's warm.

The living area is open plan. The bi-fold doors open right up onto the deck. You get the same view from the bedroom through the Juliet balcony. There's a smart TV and decent wifi. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There's an electric vehicle charger on the drive. You can store bikes in the garage underneath.

The village is quiet, just a church and a hall. The nearest pub, the Carey Arms, is about two miles away in Carey. It does food. There's fishing on the Wye if you have a license.

You're right on the edge of the Wye Valley for walking and cycling. For canoeing or paddleboarding, you'd put in at Hereford, which is about a fifteen minute drive. Hereford has the cathedral and the Mappa Mundi, plus supermarkets and shops.

Further out, you've got Ross-on-Wye about twenty minutes away, and the Forest of Dean is within half an hour. Good if you want mountain biking or to see Symonds Yat.
