Wernddu Fechan House is just outside Neath in South Wales. It's a detached house on a quiet lane, set in its own 10 acres. You're not in the middle of nowhere, but it feels very private.
It sleeps 14. There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Every bedroom has its own TV and en-suite, which solves the morning queue. The main bedroom has a big walk-in shower and a spa bath.
Downstairs is where you'll spend most of your time. The kitchen has everything, including a coffee machine and a blender. The dining table fits everyone. The living room is large, with a big TV and Sky. Then there's a separate games room with a three-quarter size pool table, another TV, and an exercise bike.
Outside, there's a patio at the front and a private garden at the back with a hot tub. The property has a 4 Star rating. It's well equipped and comfortable.
You can bring up to two dogs. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. Parking is on site.
The location is good for getting to different parts of South Wales. Neath town centre is about five miles for shops. Swansea and its bay are under half an hour away. For beaches, the Gower Peninsula is within 40 minutes.
If you want to walk, you're on the edge of the Neath Valley. There are good waterfalls nearby, like Sgwd yr Eira at Pontneddfechan. For a bigger day out, the Brecon Beacons are about half an hour north. The National Trust and Brecon Beacons National Park sites are useful for planning.
Other things within a 30 minute drive include the Penderyn Whisky Distillery for tours, Afan Forest Park for mountain biking, and the National Showcaves Centre at Dan yr Ogof. There's also local fishing and horse riding available if you arrange it.
The house is sometimes used for bigger group events like weddings. We also have a bungalow next door if you need space for up to 20 people in total.
