The Barn is part of our farm, near Neath. We fixed it up in 2021. It's a single building, separate from our house and the other cottage. You're on your own, but we're nearby if you need anything.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. We have a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-finished.
The garden is enclosed. It looks out onto our land, about sixteen acres. There's a wildlife pond. You get good views across the valley from here, and on a clear day you can see the Bristol Channel and the Gower.
You can walk straight out the gate and into Dyffryn Woods. The climb up through the woods is worth it for the view. Craig y Nos Castle and its park are basically opposite the end of the drive. The Brecon Beacons National Park isn't far.
If you're into bikes, Afan Forest trails are about twenty-five minutes away. Bike Park Wales is maybe forty minutes. Aberavon Beach is twenty minutes by car. The Gower Peninsula is about forty-five minutes, depending on traffic. It's good for beaches.
Neath town centre is ten minutes down the road for shops. Swansea is about half an hour. Cardiff is an hour's drive, or you can get the train from Neath station.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. We include the bedding and towels. There's parking here for you. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. We have a cot and a highchair if you need them.
For planning trips, Visit Wales and the National Trust sites are useful.
